Peterborough’s Original Stationery Store
Steele’s Stationers has been providing the residents of the Monadnock region with fine stationery, office and computer supplies, the best selection of greeting cards in the area, picture frames and albums, party supplies and invitations, balloons, art supplies, newspapers and magazines, gifts for all ages, and a wide selection of premium cigars. Steele’s combines quality products, with outstanding customer services. Nestled in downtown Peterborough in a historic 1800s building, Steele’s is more than just a store, it’s a community meeting place.
Bill and Elizabeth Littles continue a tradition of previous owners in their commitment to provide quality products with quality service. The store is bursting at the seams with office supplies, stationery, gifts and the best selection of cigars in the region.
Independently owned and operated, Steele’s is a Peterborough tradition. Many residents shop with their children, just as their parents did with them. It still is a family operation, and you will often see the entire family working behind the counter.
When you shop at Steele’s you not only get quality product and outstanding service, you get to feel good knowing that you are supporting the local community. The money you spend in the store is going to stay in the area, and helps the community grow. Because of our strong belief in supporting local, we also buy and sell locally made products. Steele's is a member of Monadnock Buy Local and NH Made.
Steele’s Stationers 1860:
Steele’s Stationers opened its door in 1860, making it one of the oldest businesses in the Monadnock region. It’s located in the historic, Anderson building on Main Street which dates back to 1871. The store still has the original ornate tin ceiling, and classic wood floors.
Steele’s Stationers Now:
Owners since 1988, Bill and Elizabeth Littles have kept the store's traditional feeling alive while updating it for the 21 century. The walls are stocked with printer ink, the latest supplies, plus unique gifts for all, but the store retains its old fashioned charm and feeling.
